One line of dialogue from the movie HALLOWEEN II inspired the Lost River Drive-In Double Features!
The idea that inspired our very first double-feature was based on a single line of dialogue in HALLOWEEN II. As Nurse Janet watches a news report about the Halloween murders in the hospital break room, she relays a co-worker's claim that she saw Michael Myers walking in "a field behind the Lost River Drive-In."
On September 29, 2019, we coordinated a double-feature of HALLOWEEN and HALLOWEEN II at the Mission Tiki Drive-In Theatre in Montclair, California, and they agreed to re-brand the theater as the Lost River Drive-In for the night! The staff wore Lost River Drive-In t-shirts, the popcorn boxes had the Lost River Drive-In logo on them, we created a 4-page full-size Haddonfield Times newspaper (filled with articles about Myers terrorizing Haddonfield), we produced a 37-minute Haddonfield-inspired radio show, we gave out pumpkin spice scented car air fresheners, and they even put our logo up on the big screen (see pic above)... Michael Myers himself - in screen-accurate costumes - was stalking the cars... talk about a dream double-feature for HALLOWEEN fans! Click here to read all about it!
HUNDREDS OF CARS FILLED THE PARKING LOT TO WATCH DR. LOOMIS TRY AND STOP MICHAEL'S REIGN OF TERROR ON HADDONFIELD!
NOT ALL OF OUR DOUBLE-FEATURES TAKE PLACE AT DRIVE-INS!
Since the first double-feature of HALLOWEEN and HALLOWEEN II was so much fun and was received so well, we decided to create more premium double-features under the Lost River Drive-In brand. They will be held at many different theaters and scheduled across the country (not just in "Haddonfield"!).
Our mission is to create unique double-features that curate the same level of detail and passion that we had for our first event.
We hope you'll attend a future double-feature!
